The working condition category is mainly determined by the ore properties. In the copper flotation industry site, the ore mainly comes from two mines. In the grinding process, the ore from a single mine or a mixture of ore from two mines is used. Therefore, there are three types of working condition categories in the copper flotation process.
Asghari et al. [27] investigated the improvement of copper recovery in an industrial flotation circuit (Sarcheshmeh copper mine), and stated that about 95% of overall copper lost in final tailing was in the rougher circuit while the rougher flotation recovery of mixed copper ore was 8% less than the sulfide ore.
The dominant challenge of current copper beneficiation plants is the low recoverability of oxide copper-bearing minerals associated with sulfide type ones. Furthermore, applying commonly used conventional methodologies does not allow the interactional effects of critical parameters in the flotation processes to be investigated, which is mostly overlooked in …

Misreported pyrite into copper concentrates dramatically declines copper grade and recovery. Copper flotation can be also more complicated if flotation feed comes from an elevated-pyritic copper ore.
In this study, two new variants of the recurrent neural network (RNN) method were used to predict the copper ore flotation indices, i.e., grade and recovery within different operating conditions. The model input parameters including pulp pH and solid content as well as frother and collector dosages were first analysed and then optimized using a ...
This means that 95.7% of the copper present in the ore was recovered in the concentrate, while the rest was lost in the tailings. (c) The % Cu Loss can be calculated by subtracting the % Cu Recovery from : % Cu Loss = 100 – 95.7 = 4.3% This means that 4.3% of the copper present in the ore was lost in the tailings.
"Peacock Ore" Bornite is easily recognized because it tarnishes to iridescent shades of blue, purple, red, green and yellow. It is commonly called "peacock ore" or "purple copper ore" after these iridescent colors. Upon surface exposure, bornite will weather to chalcocite or other copper minerals.
The carbonatitic Palabora copper ore was ground to the less energy intensive coarse size consisting of 45% passing 75 μm in a ball mill for 20 min and froth floated in a 4.5 l Denver cell at ...

In this research, flotation of copper, lead and zinc minerals from a copper oxide–sulfide ore was studied. The identification tests showed that the sample is a mixture of quartz, chalcopyrite ...
A large porphyry copper flotation plant has been simulated using a flotation model developed from first principles using the hydrophobic force as a kinetic parameter (Huang et al., 2022, Gupta et al., 2022).The input to the simulation was the size-by-class liberation matrix (m ij) of a flotation feed, which was essential for predicting the size-by-class flotation rate …
The poor liberation of copper–arsenic minerals makes selectivity difficult during copper sulphide flotation. Consequently, fine regrinding is required to liberate these minerals to enable differential flotation of the copper–arsenic and the primary copper minerals.
The copper ore sample was obtained from Northparkes Copper & Gold Mine, Australia. This ore was chosen due to its relatively unproblematic flotation characteristics. Such an ore provides a formidable baseline for the identification of the deleterious effects of clays. The chemical assays of the ore sample contains 0.5% Cu, 3.8% Fe, and 0.3% S.
Due to many problems such as pipe blockage, environmental pollution, and the difficulty of recovering precious metals, caused by extensive use of lime, the conventional program using lime (CaO) as the inhibitor and xanthates (e. g., sodium butylxanthate) (BX) as the collector has become increasingly restricted in use, and lime-free flotation processes are …
The flotation process in seawater is complex and multifaceted, as its chemistry is different compared to fresh water. This article presents the current status of the effect of seawater ions on flotation of copper sulfides ores, aiming to identify the main difficulties and opportunities related to this issue.
Kinetics of flotation A 1% initial increase in the recovery of copper was reported after Kingman et al. Palabora copper ore 1.3, 1.5, and 2.6 kW microwave treatment. [25] South Africa) 10–300 s With prolonged exposure time, recovery decreased from 86.94% for untreated material to 77.7% under 4 min ore treatment at 2.6 kW.
Two copper ore samples (Ore A and Ore B) having different textural/modal mineralogy and flotation characteristics were taken from different zones of the same ore deposit. Ore B contained framboidal pyrite and altered pyrite/marcasite, which is considered the main reason for the low flotation performance in both copper and pyrite flotation ...
Copper is a metal that is widely used in different applications mainly due to its thermal and electrical conductivities, together with its corrosion resistance, particularly when it is alloyed. Bornite, commonly referred to as "peacock ore," is a captivating mineral known for its striking and iridescent appearance. This mineral, composed primarily of copper iron sulfide (Cu5FeS4), draws its nickname from the kaleidoscope of colors that adorn its surface, resembling the vibrant plumage of a peacock. Bornite's hues range from deep blues and purples to …
