Basically, a split-set friction bolt is a long hollow 'C' shaped cylinder which is inserted into an undersized hole. The frictional force generated due to the undersized hole create a pressure radially due to which the bolt fits into the rock. In this study a numerical modelling procedure is developed to simulate the mechanism of the split-set.
